iWayMail Designed Specifically for Parental Involvement
An important characteristic of many independent, private and charter schools is the level of involvement that the parents have in their child's education and school environment.
The iWayMail Service has features that allow students to learn how to utilize Email as a means of communication in a controlled, safe and effective manner. Significantly, iWay Mail is priced to allow the creation of a parent account for each child in the school. This allows for the open communication between teachers, administration and parents of the children at the school.

Problem: Many schools have not yet provided Email service to all faculty, staff and especially students and parents because of a variety of legitimate concerns detailed below.
Solution: iWayMail was designed specifically for schools to address these concerns.
Cost: Buying Email accounts for individual students and parents directly from an ISP is usually prohibitive Purchasing server Hardware and software for each building is quite costly. Extra Email accounts for parents can create large and expensive storage problems. iWayMail permits a single mail server to handle all the school's Email needs. Providing Email accounts for parents adds no cost to the mail service. Individual account quotas also permit control of the mail storage requirements.
Ease of Operation: With limited "computer" staffs, many schools can not take on the additional work involved in adding a standard Email service. One of the chores with a traditional POP mail approach is the maintenance of client software on every workstation in the school. However, address books, mailbox folders,. password maintenance and other Email tools are built into the iWayMail Web Mail system. Each student, parent and faculty member can have their personal address book, personal mailbox filing system and their personalized signature file. They carry that with them when they log in from any computer in the district --- or even over the Internet. Mail account management is automated and distributed so that the impact on the computer staff is minimal.
Safety & Security: The iWayMail combination of spam filter, message content filter and virus filter combine to protect students from both inapproriate and time wasting spam mail. Virus protection will more than pay for itself by eliminating the first desctructive virus that it stops. iWayMail has a language content filter which diverts mail containing obscene words into the Site Administrator's mail box so that they can counsel the student on abusive language.
Specific features of iWayMail that can benefit charter schools, residential schools and other educational campuses which are looking for close control of Email services:
Student use of Email can be limited to Emails to and from the in house accounts of the students, teachers, and parents.
Distribution lists can be easily created for teachers to quickly communicate to students and their parents in their classes. These lists can also be useful for administrators to send messages to committees, groups of teachers, all teachers, or all parents in one list.
All accounts set up by the charter school can be accessed from any Internet connected computer, whether it be at school or from home or on the road.
iWayMail is also compatible with mail client software such as Outlook, Outlook Express, or Eudora. Teachers and parents can access their iWayMail with any of these software programs by simply adjusting their mail account settings.
